Generations Home Loans is looking for licensed or license-ready mortgage professionals with an underwriting background to transition into a production-focused Mortgage Loan Officer role. This position emphasizes relationship management and consultative sales, leveraging underwriting expertise to guide buyers and provide valuable support to real estate partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Apply underwriting knowledge to help borrowers understand loan options and qualification requirements.
  • Develop referral relationships with real estate professionals.
  • Consult with buyers from initial conversation through application, approval, and closing.
  • Provide agents with financing strategies and timely updates throughout transactions.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure a smooth loan experience.

Required skills

  • Active NMLS License in good standing
  • Experience with purchase-focused residential mortgage origination
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to generate and maintain agent-based referral business
  • Knowledge of credit, income, guidelines, and risk assessment
