Job Description

Overview

The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) at Coulee Bank will focus on providing excellent customer service while originating consumer home mortgage loans. This role requires building and maintaining a strong network of referral sources and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations throughout each loan transaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Originate investor-quality mortgage loans that meet annual fee income budget
  • Assess and evaluate the credit worthiness of loan applicants
  • Maintain customer records for routine contacts and ensure positive customer experiences
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies in collaboration with other team members
  • Participate in community and business organizations to promote Coulee Bank's services
  • Work closely with Loan Processing staff during document preparation
  • Ensure confidentiality of bank and customer data throughout the loan process
  • Attend regular training to stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes

Required skills

  • 3+ years of mortgage lending experience
  • Loan volume exceeding $8 million in the past 12 months
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Technical skills including Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures
  • Established relationships within the local community
