Job Description

Overview

The Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for originating residential mortgage and home equity lending products within North Easton Savings Bank's designated area. This role involves developing relationships with various stakeholders to generate business opportunities and managing the loan origination process while ensuring compliance with regulations and bank policies.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain referral relationships to generate mortgage lending opportunities
  • Execute business development strategies to achieve loan production goals
  • Participate in networking events and community activities to promote mortgage products
  • Evaluate financial information and recommend mortgage solutions
  • Assist customers with loan application completion and documentation collection
  • Conduct preliminary reviews of loan applications for accuracy and eligibility
  • Communicate effectively with all parties throughout the loan origination process
  • Maintain an active pipeline of mortgage loans from application to closing
  • Conduct homebuyer education seminars and community outreach activities
  • Support the Bank's affordable housing initiatives and community development activities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Complete necessary compliance training and report potential concerns

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of residential mortgage loan origination experience
  • Strong sales and relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of residential mortgage products and underwriting guidelines
  • Experience with FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA programs
  • Understanding of federal and state lending regulations
  • Analytical skills for financial documentation
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Proficiency with mortgage loan origination systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
