Overview

The Mortgage Loan Closer at Iowa Bankers Mortgage Corporation is responsible for performing full-service mortgage loan closing duties, including the preparation of closing document packages to meet all requirements. The role requires effective communication and coordination with all parties involved in the transaction to ensure timely closings.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare closing document packages that meet underwriting, investor, and compliance requirements
  • Address title objections prior to or at closing
  • Communicate effectively with all parties involved in the transaction
  • Coordinate timing of closing with bankers to meet contract dates
  • Verify accuracy of check and general ledger entries for accounting records
  • Prioritize workload for maximum efficiency and production
  • Assist with other duties as needed

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Professional communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience with Word, Excel, DU, DO, LP, and origination software
  • Basic internet skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast paced environment
