Overview

The Mold Technician at Vital Plastics LLC is responsible for setting up and operating Plastic Injection molding machines, ensuring the quality and efficiency of production. This role involves troubleshooting, making process adjustments, and maintaining safety and cleanliness standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, set up, process, and troubleshoot injection molding machines
  • Make process adjustments to optimize production efficiency
  • Set up and adjust auxiliary equipment and robotic systems
  • Follow Molding Work Instructions and production documentation
  • Identify and resolve molding process issues and quality defects
  • Perform job changeovers and verify Bills of Materials for accuracy
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
  • Communicate tooling concerns and report issues to appropriate departments

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 - 5 years Injection Molding experience
  • Mechanical skills and ability to adapt to fast-paced environments
  • Ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Basic computer skills, including email and data entry
  • Delmiaworks (IQMS) ERP system experience (desired)
  • Overhead hoist and forklift experience (desired)
