Overview

ProMed Molded Products Inc is seeking a motivated Mold Maker to join their team at a new product development facility in Plymouth, MN. This intermediate-level role involves the fabrication of injection molds and related components, collaborating closely with senior Mold Makers while maintaining high-quality standards in manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Fabricate precision injection molds from CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Collaborate with senior mold makers to gain experience in mold building and maintenance.
  • Set up, program, and operate CNC machining equipment including 3 and 5-axis mills, and sinker EDM.
  • Modify or repair existing molds and fixtures as per engineering specifications.
  • Conduct quality inspections of in-process and finished mold components.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machining equipment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the team.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly tool room.

Required skills

  • 2 years technical or trade school degree with tool making emphasis.
  • 5 years of experience as a Mold Maker.
  • Intermediate understanding of programming (CAM) software.
  • Machine setup experience with 3 or 5-axis mills, sinker EDM, and grinders.
  • Proficiency with measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Strong attention to detail and passion for precision.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional demeanor with a willingness to learn.
