Overview

The Mobile Trailer Technician at TEN (Transportation Equipment Network) will perform on-site inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs for trailers at customer locations. This role is perfect for hands-on technicians experienced with trailer systems, DOT compliance, and mechanical repairs, who thrive in a fast-paced mobile service environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Respond to mobile service calls and perform on-site trailer repairs
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and structural trailer issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and DOT-related repairs
  • Repair and replace brake systems, suspension systems, electrical wiring and lighting, and structural components
  • Perform welding and fabrication as required
  • Complete and document work orders and service reports
  • Monitor and manage parts inventory on service vehicles
  • Ensure all trailers meet safety regulations and compliance standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Stay current with industry standards and best practices

Required skills

  • Proven experience as a Trailer Technician, Trailer Mechanic, or Fleet Maintenance Technician
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of trailer systems and components
  • Experience with welding, fabrication, brake systems, and electrical troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to work independently in a mobile/on-site service role
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance
  • CDL or DOT experience preferred but not required
