Job Description

Overview

As a Mobile Reefer Technician at TEN (Transportation Equipment Network), you will perform maintenance, repair, and inspection tasks on refrigerated trailers to ensure they are safe and efficient. Your role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and structural issues, and providing recommendations for upkeep while working with various reefer types using specialized tools and equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform on-site diagnostic services, repairs, and maintenance on refrigeration units
  • Verify unit performance by diagnosing faults physically and via downloads
  • Determine unit condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests
  • Correct system deficiencies by removing, repairing, and adjusting faulty components
  • Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance and parts upgrades
  • Complete repair orders and enter data at time of repair
  • Exceed customer expectations with excellent customer service skills
  • Participate in company training and educational opportunities
  • Ensure a safe work environment and use proper PPE equipment

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • EPA 608 and 609 certifications preferred
  • Basic computer and keyboard skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Mechanical expertise and technical skills
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Safety awareness
  • Experience in the trailer/transportation industry preferred
