Job Description

Overview

The Mobile Compactor Repair Technician at Republic Services will perform troubleshooting, installation, and repairs on compactors and power units under supervision. This role requires compliance with company safety procedures and entails both shop and on-site repair work.

Key responsibilities

  • Replace hydraulic cylinders
  • Fabricate replacement hoses and fittings
  • Weld steel components using MIG and Arc welding
  • Cut steel using plasma cutting or torch
  • Perform on-site repairs at customer locations
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Install company and safety decals on compactors
  • Refer complex repairs to higher-level technicians

Required skills

  • Experience with hydraulic pumps and hoses
  • Proficiency in MIG and stick welding
  • Knowledge of plasma cutting
  • Mechanical repair skills
  • Troubleshooting ability
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision
