Overview

Montgomery & Associates is seeking a full-time Mining Hydrogeologist for their Reno office, focusing on mining projects. This mid-level role requires consulting experience in hydrogeology, particularly in hard rock and lithium brine mine sites, and involves regular interaction with various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates
  • Manage and conduct hydrogeologic investigations for mining water management projects
  • Plan field programs, preparing technical specifications and work plans
  • Oversee field programs, including installation of monitoring and production wells
  • Analyze, interpret, present, and report hydrogeologic data
  • Develop hydrogeologic conceptual models for groundwater models
  • Design and evaluate mine dewatering systems
  • Manage project budgets and schedules
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in hydrology, geology, or engineering; graduate degree and professional registration preferred
  • Five to 10 years of consulting experience in mining hydrogeology
  • Strong communication skills including technical writing and presentations
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop business and maintain client relationships
  • Experience in professional organizations and networking
