Overview

Olymel is seeking a Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) to join their team in Red Deer, Alberta. The role involves ensuring operational efficiency and quality through mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system maintenance in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts and components.
  • Operate machine tools to fabricate replacement parts.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery used in meat processing.
  • Use lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with production and sanitation teams for timely repairs and operations.
  • Test and calibrate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform corrective actions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment performance.

Required skills

  • Alberta Journeyman or Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certification
  • 2+ years of recent work experience in the trade and/or food industry
