Overview

West Fraser is seeking a Millwright in Orange Park, Florida to perform maintenance and operation of planers and related machinery. The role involves preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and ensuring the quality of lumber processing operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment and adhere to safety rules and lockout procedures
  • Perform critical measurements using a caliper for planer machine maintenance
  • Conduct minor repairs and preventive maintenance on machines
  • Maintain proper setup and operation of the planer to ensure product quality
  • Feed the planer and ensure a constant lumber flow through the process
  • Assist maintenance on major repairs of machines
  • Change knives and perform routine lubrication of machinery
  • Complete West Fraser Qualified Millwright training and competency checklists

Required skills

  • Experience in preventive maintenance and equipment repair
  • Ability to perform critical measurements
  • Familiarity with hand tools and safety procedures
  • Understanding of machine operation within lumber processing
  • Physical ability to stand on feet and perform heavy lifting
