Overview

Cargill is seeking a Licensed Millwright to join their protein and salt business in Guelph, Ontario. In this role, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of mechanical and electrical equipment through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in a dynamic meat processing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues
  • Operate motorized vehicles and equipment
  • Follow all safety, food safety, and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals

Required skills

  • Ontario or Inter-Provincial 433A Millwright Certificate required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a licensed Mechanic Millwright in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Ability to perform physical tasks (bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs.)
  • English reading and writing skills
  • Ability to work in elevated areas and confined spaces
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and in varied environmental conditions
  • Experience in food manufacturing and CFIA regulations (preferred)
  • Welding certification or other trade experience (preferred)
  • Ability to read blueprints and layout drawings (preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
