Overview

West Fraser is seeking a Mill Mechanic to join their team in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. This role involves ensuring the proper setup and operation of the planer machine, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting in repairs to maintain product quality and machine efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Use personal protective equipment and adhere to safety rules and lockout procedures
  • Perform critical measurements using a caliper
  • Set, monitor, and maintain the planer machine
  • Feed the planer to ensure constant lumber flow
  • Assist maintenance on major repairs of machines
  • Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance and lubrication
  • Change knives and maintain quality finish of the product
  • Work with hand tools and maintain proper setup of the planer
  • Complete West Fraser Qualified Millwright training and assessments
  • Maintain housekeeping as assigned by supervisor
