Overview

West Fraser is seeking a Mill Mechanic for their facility in Orange Park, Florida. This role involves operating and maintaining planer machines, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting with repairs to ensure the efficient operation of the mill.

Key responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment and safety procedures
  • Perform critical measurements using calipers
  • Set, monitor, and maintain operation of planer machines
  • Carry out minor repairs and preventive maintenance
  • Support maintenance team with major repairs as needed
  • Maintain quality finish of products
  • Feed lumber through the planer ensuring constant flow
  • Change knives as required
  • Assist with maintenance repairs to other machines within the department
  • Maintain housekeeping standards as assigned
