Job Description

Overview

The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health seeks a MIG Surgeon to join the Division of Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology. This role encompasses clinical, research, and educational responsibilities, including patient care and training of medical students, residents, and fellows in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in patient care at UW Hospital and Clinics and Meriter UnityPoint Hospital
  • Treat complex gynecologic diseases using office-based and surgical methods
  • Engage in a multi-disciplinary pelvic pain clinic and office-based procedures
  • Assist and teach in advanced benign gynecologic surgeries in the operating room
  • Participate in on-call duties for the benign gynecology service
  • Initiate and participate in clinical and educational research projects
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Participate in administrative and committee work to support clinical and scholarly missions
  • Oversee surgical training programs for medical students, residents, and fellowships
  • Develop advanced skills and metrics for residents in the simulation lab
