Job Description

Overview

The University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking a Division Director for its Midlife Health Division within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This role is available at the Associate or Professor rank and aims to provide holistic care to women aged 40 and beyond, contributing to clinical care, education, and research within a respected Midlife Health Center.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as a leader for the Midlife Health Division providing expert care
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for clinical growth, education, and research
  • Support the education of fellows, residents, and medical students ensuring compliance with ACGME and LCME requirements
  • Lead and engage in clinical and translational research fostering a culture of research
  • Build on philanthropic efforts with development partners
  • Create opportunities for community engagement related to midlife health issues
  • Expand the Division's reputation by engaging with national and international societies and journals

Required skills

  • MD or equivalent degree (PhD optional)
  • Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Certified Menopause Specialist by The Menopause Society
  • Experience in clinical and translational research
  • Evidence of scholarly activity and national reputation desirable
