Overview

Match Education is seeking a Middle School Special Education Teacher to support a diverse student body at Match Middle School in Jamaica Plain, MA. This role focuses on providing instruction and support to students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) while actively participating in coaching and professional development. The school emphasizes equity, inclusion, and fostering a collaborative environment for both students and staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide inclusion support and instruction in regular education classes with IEP students
  • Teach separate classes when necessary
  • Manage the school's Special Education programming, including paperwork and communication
  • Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students
  • Participate in coaching and professional development programming
  • Assist with school programming during non-instructional time
  • Collaborate as a positive member of the school community

Required skills

  • At least two years of full-time experience as a classroom or special education teacher
  • Preferably experienced in an urban education setting
  • Meet Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification requirements, or can meet them within
  • Demonstrated belief that all students can succeed
