Overview

The Middle School Mathematics Teacher at Legacy Solutions Inc is responsible for planning and delivering mathematics instruction to students in grades 6-8. This role emphasizes creating a positive learning environment that supports academic achievement, critical thinking, and student growth, and encourages both certified and non-certified candidates to apply.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality mathematics instruction aligned with state standards.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans that promote mastery of concepts.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Utilize data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
  • Create and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment.
  • Administer and analyze formative and summative assessments.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about student progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to improve outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development activities and faculty meetings.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records.
  • Integrate technology into instruction to enhance learning.
  • Support school-wide initiatives, programs, and events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in Mathematics (Grades 5-9, 6-12 or equivalent)
  • Strong mathematics background
  • Previous experience teaching middle school mathematics (preferred)
  • Experience working in a charter school environment (preferred)
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Experience using instructional technology and student data systems
  • Knowledge of middle school mathematics content including ratios, equations, geometry, statistics, and algebra readiness
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Effective classroom management and student engagement strategies
  • Ability to analyze student performance data and implement intervention strategies
