Overview

Plasser American Corp is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Level Project Manager to lead and coordinate railroad equipment projects from manufacturing through commissioning and final handover. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in engineering and project management, with a focus on delivering complex, high-stakes projects within the railroad industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle including planning, execution, commissioning, and handover.
  • Represent PAC in meetings with internal teams, customers, contractors, and senior management.
  • Oversee and coordinate activities of project engineers and support staff.
  • Monitor project risks and take proactive measures to ensure on-track execution.
  • Review and manage project financials and schedules, communicating status and forecasts to management.
  • Maintain professional communication with stakeholders, strengthening relationships across functions.
  • Ensure control and documentation of scope, schedule, and cost changes.
  • Conduct regular site visits to supervise progress and resolve challenges.
  • Maintain structured project documentation including schedules and cost tracking.
  • Support root-cause analysis and assist in developing technical solutions.
  • Track and report project performance through updates and risk assessments.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety requirements.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in heavy equipment or mechanical/rail systems.
  • Strong knowledge of the railroad industry.
  • PMP certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
