Overview

Plasser American Corp is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Level Project Manager to lead and coordinate critical railroad equipment projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery from manufacturing through commissioning. This role requires a strong background in engineering and project management, alongside a passion for impactful contributions in the railroad industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle, including planning, execution, commissioning, and handover
  • Represent PAC in internal and external meetings to align expectations and communicate project progress
  • Oversee project engineers and support staff to achieve timely, on-budget project delivery
  • Monitor project risk and take proactive measures to ensure execution remains on track
  • Review and manage project financials and delivery schedules across engineering and manufacturing disciplines
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Ensure control and documentation of scope, schedule, and cost changes
  • Conduct regular site visits to supervise project progress and address technical challenges
  • Maintain structured project documentation including schedules and cost tracking
  • Track and report project performance through updates and risk assessments
  • Ensure project adherence to quality standards and safety protocols
  • Collaborate effectively with international teams across various global locations

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably with heavy equipment or mechanical/rail systems
  • Strong knowledge of the railroad industry and experience with class one railroad and transit
  • PMP certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 1 year
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams)
  • Experience with scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and demonstrated leadership in cross-functional environments
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
