Job Description

Overview

The Mid Council Connections Lead at the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) acts as a key liaison between the organization and mid councils, fostering effective communication and relationships. This role requires a deep commitment to the church's mission and involves engaging with various stakeholders to support their ministries and enhance collaboration within the church community.

Key responsibilities

  • Build relationships and trust across mid councils and PL&W agencies.
  • Gather and share resources and best practices for mid council leaders.
  • Plan and lead gatherings and training events for mid council leaders.
  • Identify and communicate trends and opportunities within mid councils.
  • Oversee key administrative and compliance processes.
  • Coordinate mid council connections within the PL&W and with partners.
  • Provide parliamentary expertise and training on parliamentary procedure.
  • Support GA committees, commissions, and task forces as assigned.
  • Travel to meetings, conferences, and the General Assembly as required.

Required skills

  • Graduate-level degree (Master of Divinity, Theology, or relevant field)
  • Active Teaching Elder or Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
  • 5+ years of experience in mid-councils or mid council ministries
  • Established credibility with mid council staff and leaders
  • Deep knowledge of PC(USA) polity and governance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and intercultural competence
  • Experience with parliamentary procedure and Robert's Rules of Order
  • Proficiency with current technology and digital tools
  • Ability to manage interpersonal relationships skillfully
  • Multilingual abilities (preferred)
