Overview

Fannie Mae is seeking a Lead Associate for the MF COO - Product Management role in Reston, Virginia. This position involves providing expert guidance in product functionality development, leading customer engagement, and driving continuous product enhancements to support affordable housing solutions across the U.S. The ideal candidate will act as a Product Owner, orchestrating various stakeholder interactions and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as a Product Owner responsible for analysis, product definition, requirements documentation, and delivery execution.
  • Lead discovery sessions to identify user needs, pain points, business rules, and product opportunities.
  • Define and maintain the PI plan in alignment with business objectives and technology strategy.
  • Write detailed features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and development specifications for engineering and testing teams.
  • Document Lean Business Cases that include detailed requirements and risk assessments.
  • Create and document process flows and system interaction diagrams.
  • Monitor product performance and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Required skills

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in product management or as a Product Owner in Agile environments.
  • Strong experience using Jira and Confluence or equivalent tools.
  • Advanced business analysis skills, including requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including technology leads and business SMEs.
  • Knowledge of mortgage finance or housing finance.
