Overview

RedTown Technical Services, LLC is seeking a full-time Meteorologist for the U.S. Army Garrison-Kwajalein Atoll located in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. This position requires relocation to Kwajalein Island and involves providing weather forecasts and support for mission operations using various meteorological data and tools.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide weather forecasts for the Kwajalein Atoll region using satellite imagery and numerical weather prediction output.
  • Issue weather warnings, watches, and advisories.
  • Prepare post-mission analysis reports.
  • Support development and integration of weather station processes.
  • Collaborate with forecasters, mission personnel, and technical staff.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in meteorology or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years professional meteorological experience
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Secret security clearance
  • Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in tropical meteorology and forecasting (desired)
  • Experience interpreting Doppler and dual-polarization weather radar data (desired)
  • Experience with satellite weather interpretation (desired)
  • Experience with Linux operating system (desired)
  • Programming or scripting experience including Python, C, shell scripting (desired)
