Overview

As a Meteorologist in the U.S. Navy, you will be part of the Oceanography (OCEANO) Officers, serving as the Navy's geophysical experts. Your mission involves applying your expertise in meteorology and oceanography to support fleet operations and ensure navigation safety, while having the opportunity to serve in a variety of operational roles both at sea and ashore.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the collection, processing, prediction, exploitation, and dissemination of environmental data.
  • Ensure safety of navigation and access to denied waters.
  • Lead teams ranging from small deployable units to large commands.
  • Serve as the geophysical expert at an operational command.
