Job Description

Overview

As a Merchandiser at Alsum Farms, you will be responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of merchandise and materials to ensure shelves and displays are well stocked. This role emphasizes teamwork and customer service, aiming to exceed expectations daily, especially with the new Woodman's store opening in early October 2026.

Key responsibilities

  • Stock produce or other merchandise
  • Unload materials or equipment
  • Inspect items for damage or defects
  • Rotate product using first in, first out method
  • Check backroom stock daily and communicate needs to the Produce Manager
  • Discuss goods or services information with customers and team members
  • Attach identification information to products or containers
  • Inspect shipments to ensure correct order fulfillment
  • Monitor inventories of products or materials
  • Set up merchandise displays
  • Remove debris or damaged produce items
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid forklift license or willingness to obtain one
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of product codes and terminology
  • Knowledge of merchandising policies and procedures
  • Analytical skills and sound judgment related to inventory
  • Self-motivation and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to use HRIS software
  • Valid state motor vehicle license with acceptable record
