Overview

Slingshot AI is looking for a Member of Technical Staff focused on Production Engineering to join their passionate team, which aims to leverage cutting-edge AI to improve mental health access globally. The role involves building and scaling the platform that powers their AI product, Ash, while collaborating with a skilled team across various stacks and services.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team to design, build, and launch new features across the stack.
  • Work across all parts of the stack including backend, ML scripts, media streaming, and internal tooling.
  • Refine the reliability, performance, and scalability of the systems behind Ash.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve production issues with a focus on key performance metrics.
  • Prototype new features based on customer feedback and personal product insights.

Required skills

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience operating production systems at scale
  • Strong understanding of latency, reliability, and cost in systems design
  • Full stack development experience
  • Quick learner of new technologies and languages
  • Experience in fast-paced environments
  • Nice to have: experience in production AI inference or model serving systems
  • Nice to have: experience with realtime systems such as voice or streaming
  • Nice to have: experience working on large-scale data pipelines or evaluation systems
  • Nice to have: familiarity with ML codebases
