The Melting Supervisor is responsible for leading and motivating personnel toward higher levels of safety, environmental cleanliness, quality and production through strict adherence of the Rocky Mountain Steel Mills Business Plan and core valuesDirectly, responsible for supervising and motivating a team of Electric Furnace and Casting personnel in the production of various sizes and grades of rounds from the Demag Caster.Communicates and supports a safe and positive working environment for all personnelEnsures that all employees are working safely and following all the company policies, procedures and practicesAssists with the operations and flow of the Melt Shop in all areas, including the Furnace, LRF and VTDDelivers appropriate training in the development of competent and a motivated and cross trained workforceProvides daily update reports and operational progress to managementParticipates in the development and implementation of safety, quality and cost improvement activities focused on achieving the Business Plan and AIPsRequirementsBachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experienceMinimum 5 years' experience in steelmaking; Metallurgy preferredAbility to work in a team environment with proven interpersonal skillsStrong leadership and managerial skillsStrong problem-solving and proven decision making skillsProven written and verbal communication skillsGood organizational and time management skillsAbility to multitaskHighly motivated and a self-starterAbility to interact with all levels of our organizationProficient in Excel, Word and OracleStrong mechanical aptitudeExperience in the management of 6S projectsCompensation$90,000 - $100,000 USD per yearOpen & Closing Dates: 3/31/2026 - 5/12/2026Our total compensation package includes amazing benefits!Competitive wages and bonus opportunities Family medical, dental, and prescription coverage at minimal employee cost Short and long term disability programs Competitive retirement plans Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts Employer-provided and Voluntary Life Insurance options Paid vacation and recognized statutory holidays Apprenticeship and career advancement within the company Tuition reimbursement Wellness programAll applicants must be eligible to work in the USA.While we thank all those who apply, only those being actively considered for employment will be contacted.Equal Opportunity EmployerOrion Steel Group, L.L.C. is an Equal Opportunity employer.
