Overview

CF&I Steel, L.P. is looking for a Melting Supervisor to lead its Steelmaking team in Pueblo, Colorado. This role focuses on enhancing safety, quality, and production while overseeing the Electric Furnace and Casting personnel.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise and motivate a team in the production of various sizes and grades of rounds
  • Communicate and support a safe and positive working environment
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and safety practices
  • Assist with operations and flow in the Melt Shop
  • Provide appropriate training to develop a competent and cross-trained workforce
  • Deliver daily updates and operational progress to management
  • Participate in safety, quality, and cost improvement activities

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in steelmaking, metallurgy preferred
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Oracle
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in 6S project management
  • Ability to work in a team environment
