Job Description

Overview

WellSpan Hospitals is seeking a Medical Technologist/POC/MLT to join their team in Etters, Pennsylvania. This PRN/Casual role involves providing technical assistance and support for patient care, including the collection and analysis of laboratory specimens while ensuring compliance with relevant protocols and regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform tasks and complex tests in all areas of the laboratory according to established protocols
  • Collect and process specimens utilizing technical knowledge
  • Perform quality control and preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments
  • Validate and report results of tests and assist with troubleshooting and quality assurance
  • Follow safety practices and maintain documentation for compliance
  • Coordinate and perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic laboratory activities
  • Assist with patient care activities within the scope of state regulations
  • Maintain patient privacy and a safe environment
  • Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations
  • Attend staff meetings and perform additional duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological/Physical Sciences or Medical Laboratory Science
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum 6 years of core lab experience
  • Act 33 and Act 73 clearances
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist
  • Valid State of Nevada license or ability to obtain
  • Experience in non-waived specialties of a clinical laboratory
