Overview

Dignity Health - St. Rose Dominican Neighborhood Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist for PRN night shifts. This role involves providing technical assistance and support in patient care, specifically focusing on laboratory specimen collection and analysis while ensuring compliance with established protocols and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests and complex procedures according to established protocols
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens accurately
  • Conduct quality control and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Report and validate laboratory results while addressing any technical troubleshooting
  • Maintain compliance with safety practices and documentation
  • Collaborate with clinical departments to enhance laboratory services
  • Assist with patient care tasks such as phlebotomy, IV starts, and vital sign monitoring
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment, adhering to aseptic and infection control procedures

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological/Physical Sciences or Medical Laboratory Science
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist (MLS/MLT) by ASCP or AMT
  • Valid State of Nevada laboratory license or ability to obtain it within 6 months
  • Minimum of 6 years core lab experience for Pittsburgh Market or 3 years lab experience in a licensed laboratory for Las
  • Experience with IV starts and phlebotomy is a plus
