Overview

The Medical Technologist (MT) at Kettering Health Network will play a crucial role in performing and reporting laboratory tests with precision and speed. This part-time position in Wilmington, Ohio, entails responsibilities such as maintaining quality control and ensuring patient safety in a not-for-profit healthcare environment committed to exceptional care.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform accurate laboratory testing and recognize abnormal results
  • Report test results in a timely and accurate manner
  • Conduct instrument checks and quality control procedures
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
  • Prepare samples for testing with proper handling techniques
  • Communicate critical results to appropriate caregivers
  • Organize and prioritize work assignments effectively
  • Train and evaluate new staff and trainees
  • Assist in various lab operational tasks, including scheduling and inventory management

Required skills

  • Baccalaureate degree in biological science, chemistry, or mathematics
  • Completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Science program
  • MT/MLS certification (ASCP or AMT) required

  • Understanding of safety regulations and effective communication skills
