Overview

Kettering Health is seeking a Medical Technologist (MLS/MT/MLT) for their Core Lab in Wilmington, Ohio. The role involves performing accurate laboratory testing, ensuring quality control, and effectively communicating results to the appropriate personnel.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform accurate laboratory testing and recognize abnormal results
  • Report results in a timely manner through various communication methods
  • Conduct instrument checks and quality control procedures
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment
  • Prepare samples for testing and ensure proper labeling and transport
  • Teach and evaluate trainees on laboratory procedures
  • Assist in lab operations such as scheduling and inventory management
  • Engage in laboratory communications and attend staff meetings

Required skills

  • Baccalaureate degree in biological science, chemistry, or mathematics
  • Successful completion of NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Science program
  • MT/MLS (ASCP) or MLT (ASCP) certification required
  • Knowledge of testing accuracy and quality control theory
  • Ability to troubleshoot testing procedures
  • Understanding of safety regulations and regulatory requirements
  • Effective communication skills with patients and medical staff
