Overview

Shannon Health is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform quality diagnostic laboratory testing on various specimens. The role involves analyzing laboratory tests, preparing reagents, and maintaining instruments while ensuring adherence to safety and procedural standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform and analyze a variety of laboratory tests and procedures
  • Prepare reagents, standards, and controls according to prescribed procedures
  • Calibrate, standardize, and maintain instruments in accordance with established procedures
  • Research and develop new laboratory procedures as assigned
  • Exhibit professionalism and continuous professional growth
  • Assist in orienting and training new employees and students
  • Contribute to teamwork and quality improvement in the department
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • ASCP Certification eligible in Medical Technology
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science
  • Computer skills for laboratory and hospital information systems
  • Experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids preferred
  • Knowledge of laboratory and hospital safety policies
