Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist for their Radiation Oncology department in New Orleans. The role involves providing radiation physics support for cancer treatment, conducting quality control, and ensuring safety protocols for radiation therapy equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide radiation physics support for patient treatment planning.
  • Perform clinical radiation oncology physicist and dosimetry duties.
  • Develop quality control policies and maintain records on treatment equipment.
  • Coordinate in-service and repair of medical physics equipment.
  • Participate in QA programs by performing dose measurements and calibrations.
  • Consult with dosimetrists and other staff as needed.
  • Maintain clinical knowledge and credentials through professional development.

Required skills

  • Master's degree in Medical Physics, Radiological Physics, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in clinical medical physics.
  • Certification in therapeutic radiological physics preferred.
