Job Description

Overview

OhioHealth is expanding its Physics team and is seeking a Medical Physicist to support its Radiation Oncology services, operating primarily at care sites within Columbus, OH. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team providing clinical physics support, ensuring quality assurance, and participating in clinical trials and new treatment techniques.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide clinical Physics support including daily operations and routine quality assurance activities
  • Support for SBRT, SRS, HDR, and cardiac brachytherapy
  • Conduct chart checks and ensure adherence to department policies
  • Participate in clinical trials and the development of new treatment techniques and technologies
  • Provide rotating weekly chart check coverage remotely
  • Measure and characterize medical radiation from treatment equipment
  • Perform acceptance testing, evaluation, and commissioning of equipment
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive Quality Management Program
  • Train medical practitioners and health care providers on radiation oncology physics and dosimetry
  • Consult on program development in radiation oncology
  • Assess and evaluate radiation shielding designs
  • Monitor compliance with radiation protection policies and regulations

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Medical Physics or related field
  • ABR board certified or board eligible in Therapeutic Radiological Physics
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with linear accelerators and medical radiation equipment
  • Knowledge of radiation therapy dosimetry and treatment planning systems
  • Familiarity with quality assurance practices in radiation oncology
