Overview

Research Medical Center is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist Lead to provide technical leadership and oversight in the laboratory. This role involves coordinating daily activities, performing biochemical and hematologic tests, and ensuring quality control while fostering a collaborative work environment focused on patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for laboratory personnel
  • Plan and coordinate daily activities for laboratory staff
  • Perform preanalytic, analytic, and post-analytic testing
  • Investigate causes of unexpected test results
  • Monitor quality control and maintain inventory of supplies
  • Participate in performance improvement activities
  • Correlate abnormal laboratory data with pathologic states
  • Train and assist in the orientation of new laboratory employees

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist
  • 3 years experience in an accredited laboratory
  • 2 years experience in the technical area preferred
  • Hospital laboratory experience preferred
