Overview

Research Medical Center is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist Lead to provide technical leadership and oversight in the laboratory setting. This role involves planning daily activities, performing biochemistry and hematology testing, and ensuring the quality of laboratory work, all within a supportive and rewarding healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for laboratory personnel
  • Plan and coordinate daily activities for laboratory staff
  • Perform preanalytic, analytic, and post-analytic biochemical and hematologic testing
  • Investigate technical and instrumental causes of unexpected test results
  • Oversee quality control and inventory of supplies
  • Maintain a safe work area and demonstrate professional work habits
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and the evaluation of new test methodologies
  • Teach laboratory theory and procedures to students and new employees

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree as a Medical Technologist (MT-AAB) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
  • 3 years of experience in an accredited laboratory
  • 2 years of preferable experience in a relevant technical area
  • Hospital laboratory experience preferred
