Overview

Endeavor Health is seeking a part-time Medical Lab Scientist for their Core Lab in Naperville, Illinois. This role involves performing clinical laboratory tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality control while promoting patient satisfaction and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform patient tests using automated laboratory equipment and manually
  • Review patient test results for accuracy and notify appropriate personnel of critical results
  • Perform quality control and document actions taken for non-conforming results
  • Conduct instrument checks and maintenance as per departmental protocols
  • Maintain competencies according to hospital and laboratory policies
  • Promote patient satisfaction and maintain customer service values
  • Participate in continuing education and internal committees
  • Maintain a safe work environment and handle biohazardous materials appropriately
  • Assist in training and orientation of new employees and students
  • Manage computer functions and workload efficiently

Required skills

  • Associate's Degree or higher in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science
  • Registration with ASCP, NCA or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in clinical laboratory testing
