Job Description

Overview

The Medical Lab Scientist position at Research Medical Center involves conducting routine and complex laboratory tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. The role is part of a dedicated team committed to delivering the highest quality patient care, with a focus on various laboratory sections including toxicology, hematology, and microbiology.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform chemical, hematology, serological, immunohematology, and microscopic procedures in laboratory sections
  • Produce accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, and microbiology
  • Maintain quality results by running standards and controls and calibrating equipment
  • Verify equipment function through routine maintenance and monitor quality control measures and protocols

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in laboratory science or related science
  • Certification as Medical Technologist by CLIA 88MT(ASCP), CLS or MLS(ASCP) or equivalent
  • Registry/certification eligibility required within 1 year of hire
  • Experience in laboratory testing preferred
