Overview

LifeStance Health is seeking a Medical Director Physician for their San Diego location. The role involves overseeing psychotherapy clinicians, enhancing their professional development through coaching, and ensuring clinical integrity and compliance. This position requires a strong commitment to improving mental health services while fostering a collaborative culture among the healthcare team.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and support for psychotherapy clinicians
  • Engage in coaching and education of new and existing clinicians
  • Plan and implement clinical strategies and operations
  • Conduct clinician onboarding training and development
  • Facilitate regular peer consultation forums
  • Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to regional leadership
  • Support clinician recruitment and hiring efforts
  • Ensure adherence to clinical compliance and safety standards
  • Conduct clinical record reviews and evaluate clinical metrics

Required skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience managing a diverse team
  • Proven ability to improve business processes
  • Experience in clinical leadership
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to develop other clinicians
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and clinical safety standards
  • MA degree in clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, clinical counseling, or PhD/PsyD in clinical psychology
  • 5+ years clinical experience
  • Active clinical license
