Overview

YesCare is seeking a Medical Director Physician to lead healthcare initiatives within the correctional system in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of care delivered to an underserved population through innovative and compassionate healthcare practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the quality of medical care in assigned region
  • Act as a liaison for clinical matters related to various healthcare services
  • Provide 24/7 on-call backup for site medical directors
  • Participate in Continuous Quality and Safety Improvement functions
  • Ensure compliance with UM programs and corporate policies
  • Supervise overall clinical services for assigned facilities
  • Assist in the development of medical audit criteria and corrective action plans
  • Provide medical training and education to staff
  • Monitor compliance with credentialing requirements
  • Participate in business development activities and proposals

Required skills

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Completion of residency in primary care specialty
  • Board certified or eligible
  • State medical license eligibility
  • Utilization Management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in relevant fields
  • Current hands-on BLS certification
  • Experience in healthcare administration preferred
  • Current DEA registration
