Overview

The Medical Assistant III for L.E. Cox Medical Centers plays a crucial role in both administrative and clinical capacities within the Cardiovascular Services department. This position involves direct patient interaction, including the administration of medications, while also handling scheduling and medical records management tasks under supervision.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phones and scheduling appointments
  • Measure and record vital signs
  • Collect demographic and medical information, including medication reviews
  • Prepare patients for examinations and ensure cleanliness of rooms and equipment
  • Stock supplies and assist in the administration of medications

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant training program
  • Knowledge of pharmacology and anatomy/physiology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved program (CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA
