Do you have experience with pneumatics, fluid power, pumps, compressed air systems, controls, or industrial equipment and want to grow into a customer-facing sales role?Southwestern Controls is seeking a Mechanical & Fluid Power Customer Service Representative to support customers, troubleshoot applications, recommend solutions, and develop the skills necessary to become a Territory Manager. This position is ideal for a hands-on mechanical individual who enjoys both technical problem solving and building customer relationships.You'll work with industry-leading products and solutions offered through:Southwestern ControlsAir Pumps OnlineSeptic Sewage PumpsOur product lines include pneumatic equipment, fluid power systems, air-operated pumps, controls, process equipment, wastewater and sewage pumps, industrial instrumentation, and related mechanical products serving commercial, industrial, municipal, and environmental markets.What You'll DoTechnical SupportAssist customers with troubleshooting pneumatic, fluid power, pumping, and mechanical system applications.Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and solutions.Explain technical concepts including pressure, flow, horsepower, torque, pump curves, and system performance.Interpret product specifications, installation requirements, and operating conditions.Evaluate returned products to identify failure conditions and recommend corrective actions.Support customers with product selection, replacement parts, and system upgrades.Sales & Customer DevelopmentPrepare and follow up on customer quotations.Develop relationships with contractors, municipalities, industrial customers, OEMs, and distributors.Support Territory Managers and learn the fundamentals of outside sales.Identify new sales opportunities within existing customer accounts.Participate in customer visits, product demonstrations, and training opportunities.Progress toward an outside sales role through technical expertise and customer relationship development.Order Management & OperationsProcess sales orders, blanket orders, and release schedules within Profit21 (P21).Monitor order status and communicate updates to customers.Process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).Coordinate with vendors, warehouse personnel, and freight providers to expedite orders.Assist with shipping, receiving, inventory control, and cycle counts.Generate invoices and support accounts receivable follow-up as needed.What We're Looking ForPreferred ExperienceExperience with one or more of the following:PneumaticsFluid power systemsPumps and pumping systemsCompressors and compressed air systemsProcess controls and instrumentationWastewater or water treatment equipmentMechanical maintenance or industrial equipment repairIndustrial distribution or technical salesTechnical SkillsStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.Understanding pressure, flow, horsepower, torque, and basic fluid dynamics.Ability to read technical specifications and product literature.Comfortable communicating technical information to customers.Computer proficiency and ability to learn ERP systems such as Profit21.Personal CharacteristicsCustomer-focused and solution-oriented.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
