Job Description

Overview

The Mechanical Engineer at Johnson Thermal Systems is responsible for designing and developing Power Package units to meet customer specifications. This role involves creating detailed documentation and collaborating with various departments to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Create designs for manufacturing, including 2D and 3D modeling using CAD tools
  • Revise and document mechanical assemblies, drawings, and parts
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical engineering issues
  • Collaborate with third-party engineering firms on structural elements
  • Prepare bills of materials for estimating costs
  • Ensure products meet safety and quality standards
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
  • 1-2 years of relevant engineering experience preferred
  • Familiarity with CAD SolidWorks preferred
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a plus
  • Knowledge of design techniques and tools for precision technical plans
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and self-motivation skills
  • Strong communication skills for cross-department collaboration
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of sheet metal forming and capabilities preferred
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
