Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Summary The Mechanical Drafting/CAD Technician II supports the global drafting department by creating, revising, and storing electronic drawing files in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD for custom process equipment used in Client Optical Fiber and Cable manufacturing locations worldwide. This role focuses on preparing engineering/development drawing sets for release into Autodesk Vault, ensuring compliance with company drafting standards. Key Responsibilities C orrect redlined models and drawings issued by drafting leads or engineering teams Convert legacy drawings (hand-drawn and AutoCAD) into 3D models and associative drawings Create 2D drawings from existing 3D models Collect engineering data and incorporate into drawings Gather measurements from the production floor for integration into drawings Work Environment Contract employment through a third party (1-year length, often extended with performance and workload) Hybrid schedule: work from home 3-4 days per week Standard schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm; overtime often required (target 45 hours/week) Required Education A.A.S. Mechanical Engineering Technology degree, A.O.S. Drafting/CAD degree, or Drafting Certificate/Certification Candidates without degrees must demonstrate proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting Required Experience and Skills Minimum 2 years of professional mechanical drafting experience Working knowledge of ASME/ANSI drafting standards General Windows-based computer skills Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault software Ability to adapt to company standards and guidelines Strong work ethic and attention to detail Education: Associate's DegreeCompany DescriptionCompunnel Inc., established in 1994; is a leading provider of Staffing, IT/Software, e-Learning/Training, Business Intelligence, and Cloud Solutions.
