Mechanical Design Engineer Position Summary Works under general direction with moderate supervision. Designs and details Standard and/or Custom large scale industrial equipment, utilizing acquired technical skills and acceptable design criteria, within projects as specified /assigned by the Engineering Manager, the Project Manager, or the Director of Engineering. All new designs and drawings to be created within Autodesk Inventor software, as compliant with Engineering Department's design Guidelines. Position Responsibilities Design and optimization of mechanical components for mechanical powertrain systemsDesign and detail Fabricated Weldments and machined componentsComponents include frames, brackets, shafts, couplings, flanges, housing, clutches etc.Analysis of mechanical systems, including Finite Element analysis for structural, fatigue, thermal, vibration, and acousticsAnalysis and specification of electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic systemsDevelops manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable standardsInterfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assemblyRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reportsConfer with system engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical informationResearch and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applicationsSpecify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications Role Priorities Strong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent problem solving and time management skillsKnowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and softwareSelf-motivated and highly organized Reporting to this position N/A Role Qualifications Good mechanical aptitude and knowledgeProficient in 3D CAD modeling and Inventor Vault Essential Skills and Experience Analyze customer design proposals, specification Ability to meet with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand needs and requirementsUnderstand mechanical systems including pneumatics Beneficial Skills and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering5+ years' experienceExperience designing multi-axis continuous duty industrial equipmentExposure to Robotics and Industrial Automation Compensation details: 00 Yearly SalaryPI4b253c1c7ab5-2679
