Job Description

Overview

As a Mechanical Building Engineer at JLL, you will support mechanical operations in critical data center environments. This night shift role offers you the opportunity to build expertise in advanced mechanical systems while collaborating with experienced engineers dedicated to your professional growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections of mechanical systems, including HVAC equipment and chillers.
  • Monitor critical mechanical parameters and alert senior staff to any abnormalities.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment.
  • Assist in routine maintenance activities under supervision, including filter changes and belt inspections.
  • Support chilled water systems and cooling tower operations.
  • Participate in mechanical troubleshooting activities.
  • Follow safety protocols for mechanical work, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Manage mechanical work orders and assist with vendor coordination.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and system performance data.

Required skills

  • 2-4 years of technical experience in building mechanical systems with a focus on HVAC.
  • 1 year of experience in data center or critical facility environments preferred.
  • Understanding of mechanical fundamentals and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Universal EPA 608 Certification or the ability to obtain it within 90 days.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Physical ability to lift 50-80 pounds and work in extreme temperatures.
