Job Description

Overview

As a Mechanical Building Engineer at JLL, you will support sophisticated mechanical operations vital for maintaining optimal conditions in critical data center environments. This role offers you the chance to enhance your mechanical engineering skills and gain hands-on experience with advanced HVAC systems under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections of mechanical systems including HVAC equipment and chillers
  • Monitor critical mechanical parameters like temperatures and pressures
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks according to established procedures
  • Assist with routine maintenance activities under senior engineer supervision
  • Support chilled water systems and cooling tower operations
  • Participate in mechanical troubleshooting activities
  • Follow safety protocols for mechanical work
  • Manage mechanical work orders through CMMS systems
  • Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and system performance

Required skills

  • 2-4 years of technical experience in building mechanical systems
  • Solid understanding of HVAC principles
  • Universal EPA 608 Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and CMMS
  • Physical ability to lift 50-80 pounds and work in extreme conditions
  • Availability for emergency response calls
