Overview

Astrophysics Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Lead to oversee and coordinate mechanical assembly operations at their headquarters in City of Industry, CA. This role entails hands-on assembly responsibilities while supporting and guiding a team to meet production goals and maintain quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly tasks following written instructions and specifications
  • Coordinate daily activities and task assignments within the mechanical assembly team
  • Support team members by answering questions and assisting with troubleshooting
  • Document and communicate deviations from written instructions
  • Help maintain production flow and meet schedule targets
  • Train and mentor new assemblers on tools and safety procedures
  • Conduct informal quality checks and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues
  • Maintain clear documentation of assembly processes and feedback

Required skills

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical assembly or production operations
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience in a team-oriented manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and assembly techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and written instructions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
